Cardiovascular problems may decrease sexual satisfaction.
Men should be aware that erectile dysfunction has been associated to a developing cardiovascular disease. Unlike women, men’s medical health and sexual health conditions could impact sexual satisfaction. Studies show that men are more prone to such disease, and would be better to take preventive measures:
1. Don’t smoke or use tobacco products – If you never taste cigarettes then don’t even try it. If you are a smoker, then quit. The most powerful step to prevent the risk of cardiovascular problems is to stay away from smoking. Tobacco smoke contains more than 4, 800 chemicals that can damage your heart and blood vessels. Even smokeless tobacco, low-tar and low nicotine are also risky. As well as exposure to secondhand smoke.
2. Get Active – Physical activity is good for the heart. Regular participation of in moderately vigorous physical activity can help reduce the risk fatal heart diseases. It can help prevent heart disease by increasing blood flow to your heart and strengthening heart’s contractions. It can also help in controlling weight and can reduce chances of developing other conditions that may put a strain on your heart. It is best that you get 30 to 60 minutes of moderately intense physical activity at least 3 days a week. However, shorter amounts offer heart health benefits.
3. Eat a heart-healthy diet – Consistent eating healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low fat dairy products can help protect your heart. Legumes, low-fat sources of protein and certain types of fishes also reduce the risk of heart diseases. Limited intake of fats is necessary. Heart healthy eating doesn’t always mean to cut back you food intake. You just need to add more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Following a heart-healthy diet also means drinking alcohol only in control. Not more than two shots a day for men, one a day for women. At that reasonable level, alcohol can have a protective effect on your heart. More than that, it becomes a health risk.
4. Maintain a healthy weight – Putting weight in adulthood, can gain mostly fatty tissue. Thus excess weight can lead you to risks heart diseases like: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Even small reductions in weight can be favorable. Reducing your weight by just 10 percent can decrease your blood pressure, lower your blood cholesterol level and lessen your risk of diabetes.
5. Get regular health screenings – High blood pressure and high cholesterol can harm you cardiovascular system. Regular screening can tell you if you need to take actions before it’s too late.
