Threats to the human race are almost everywhere.  Danger could be lurking around the corner or it could be outside your door.  The point is, people should be more careful in each and everything they do.

At this point of time, one of the most common causes for the world’s dwindling mortality is diseases. Curable or incurable illness could easily be the source of human life to expire.  To women, breast cancer and cervical cancer leads these fatal diseases, while to men, prostate cancer and lung cancer do the works.

Now, I’m just curious what this prostate cancer is.  I heard of people I know of that had this kind of cancer and most of their ages ranges from sixty to eighty years old.  As what I have read from everywhere, causes of prostate cancer is still vague, but some doctors considered the genetic make up of the man having it.  Eating foods with a very high content of fat may also play a big part of acquiring this cancer.  Naturally, men’s health is as fragile as women.  So obviously, we are all equal.           

Some symptoms of this cancer, includes having trouble starting the urine stream, a weaker-than-normal urine stream or cannot urinate at all.  Bladder feels like not emptying completely when urinating, and feels pain or burning when urinating, and also have blood in the urine. Also having a deep pain in the lower back, belly, hip or pelvis is also a symptom of prostate cancer.

And who says that men’s health needs little concern?  It’s a bit of a problem when men have this kind of illness, since they are very proud.  They don’t want to feel helpless, and with this disease, men who have this kind of ailment need a lot of help and assistance from others.  It will be very difficult for I know that caring for a patient incurring this disease will need a lot of patience and love…..

People tend to believe that love is always about romance, and about passion, but people are also inclines to forget that love is not always about that.  It is about sacrifice, misery and giving.  We have to give up a lot of things to achieve true love that all of us seek.  Some of us got it, but some failed on this game of romantic life.

Presently, people do not always have to meet the person personally to find love.  A lot of us find love through the internet…in the past; a person dates a person through candle lights, flowers and gifts.  Spending time with that person help to discover things that only love can do.  But today’s generation does not always date traditionally, but they have this online dating that they say creates a sense of adventure.

Why adventure? Adventure, because online dating is a lot more fun, and it’s not conventional in the first place.  What more, it’s very entertaining to flirt with someone with you having no knowledge about him.  And with him having different culture, different race, and different color.  Online dating is a very amusing endeavor since it’s like playing a puzzle, which enhance your capacity to think not in an emotional manner as well as in an intellectual aspect of your being.  We could divert our lives to a more exciting but dangerous fixation.

Online dating requires a lot of precision, a wiser mind, a tough decision and a good head to rule all.  It’s like a maze where in you could disappear in its twist and turn and lost yourself if you are naïve enough to let it swift you away.

One thing is for sure, you have to be very extra careful….

Sometimes, people get confuse with being in-love with the person or just in-love with LOVE itself.  A person who will turn the world upside down for the sake of another person is in-love with that person.  Or is he/she?  Love has a very complicated definition.  It can be define as a strong emotional attachment to another individual.  It can be define as a deep feeling of sexual desire and attraction.  An expression to one’s affection, and many more meanings we can’t even comprehend in a deeper level.  Oftentimes, we mistake loving love rather than loving the person itself.  We love for the sake of LOVE.  Tsk, tsk!

Now that the annual big event is coming, we are beginning to prepare presents, surprises, items that we think our loved-ones desire.  We tend to choose things that would cost much because we thought our love can be measured by the value of the stuff we give.  We are being blinded for loving love.  We offer expensive gifts for the sake of the celebration, for the sake of the occasion we used to celebrate.  We really doesn’t prepare for the ones we love but for the occasion. 

For me, love really is a non-definite hollow, you may fill lots and lots of substance in it, and it will never be fully filled.  It has no boundary, no meaning.  It’s just an empty word in a wide space, crammed up with junks.  We are the one who named it, but I’m not so sure if all of us really understand it.

Loving a person is a big deal and we could never love another being if we won’t start loving ourselves first.  This coming VALENTINES DAY, I hope we already understood the true meaning of LOVE.

If I were you, I will ask this question first before committing to love someone.

Do I really love this person?  Or I’m just in love with love?   

I’ve been diagnosed with breast cest when I was in high school.  I actually felt it was there during my elementary years.  I felt a lump in my right breast, a small button like knob.  I never mind it since I had no knowledge about breast cancer and the like.  The pain begun in my high school years, and the doctor advised me to massage it with a bottle containing hot water every night.  The pain is bearable so we were not alarmed that it’s terminal.  When I was in college, it grows faster than I thought and it never stops hurting me.  Together with my mom, I consult an OB Gynecologist and she advised me to undergo an operation to take out my breast cest.  It’s not so scary because the lump is movable and there is no chance of infections so breast cancer is evitable.  I was not in favor of the operations since she said it would be better to rest for 1 year, after the operations.  My parents gave me a choice: To undergo operation and stop education or vice versa.  I am not allowed to choose both.  I love my education so much rather than my health.  I was young and naïve then, health is not my priority. 

After years of study and I am now a career woman.  Six (6) months ago, I’ve decided to take the lump in my breast and my OBGYNE is against it since I am three (3) months pregnant.  She told me there is 70% chance that my lump would be held after giving birth.  Fortunately my breast cest was gone after I’ve given birth.  There is a medical explanation as to why it happens.  Sometimes, the hormonal changes that women go through in pregnancy period affect my cest.  It is completely healed and I know, my faith in God together with the natural healing power of motherhood has a lot to do with it.  If I pushed thru that operation, I would have been half a woman at least that was what I believed then.  My decision to choose my study is luckily right, but I would never take chances again.  My baby depends on me and her father and I won’t take the same risk again because breast cancer is rampant nowadays.  I realize that my health is worth a thousand times than what I would learn.
